Learn to scuba dive

We offer a number of courses, from beginner to advanced. These will involve a mixture of theory, pool and open water sessions done at your own pace over a number of weeks or months.

We also offer Try Dives, so if you are not sure that diving is for you, you can have a session in the pool with full scuba gear and no commitment.

Learning to scuba dive can be a life-changing experience, bringing a whole host of exciting underwater opportunities and friends to enjoy them with.

BSAC’s Ocean Diver course is the place to start. This entry-level open water diver qualification will equip you with the core skills to dive to a maximum of 20 metres in open water, in the UK and abroad.

With BSAC, diving skills are taught progressively, with each new skill and experience built upon, step-by-step. The blend of theory, swimming pool and open water skills sessions along with continual technique practice enables you to develop your diving in a safe and enjoyable way.

To learn to scuba dive with Bicester Sub Aqua Club will cost you around £550.

The up-front cost for adults is £450 and £350 for students. This includes your BSAC membership fee, branch/club fee and other sundries such as training packs and kit hire (excluding dry suits). You will also need to cover the estimate of around £100 for dive site entrance fees, fuel and dry suit hire.

We encourage the more experienced divers to progress to Instructor level, as well as attending skill development courses run by BSAC in the region. Many of the club members also undergo Life Guard training for pool nights, as well as instruction on use of the club compressor.

If you have never dived before, then this is where your journey begins…
