Try Dives - A great introduction to scuba diving

If you've ever wondered what it's like to enter the underwater world and try your hand at scuba diving, a try dive is an excellent introduction to the sport. A try dive with Bicester Sub-Aqua Club will allow you to experience scuba diving in the safe confines of the swimming pool. Even if you've never snorkelled or swam with fins/flippers, an experienced scuba diver will assist and guide you every step of the way.

You do not need to provide any special equipment, all the necessary scuba gear will be provided by the club. All you will need is suitable pool wear, we suggest swimming trunks/costume and a t-shirt.

A swimming pool may not appear to be the most exotic location but it will give you plenty to talk about. Not everyone can afford a holiday to a wonderful destination where scuba diving takes place or you may be planning to go on holiday and wonder whether scuba diving is something you'd like to try. The swimming pool is a safe place for your 1st experience and the best place to learn.

When you participate in a Try Dive you will receive full instruction from a qualified scuba diver. They will explain to you all the necessary equipment that you will be using and show you how it is assembled. Depending on your level of ability you will guided through the several stages from swimming with fins (flippers to some) then with the addition of a mask and snorkel. Building up to full use of the scuba gear all around the pool.

Bicester Sub-Aqua club has a designated try dive co-ordinator who will be able to assist you in arranging your try dive experience. You can contact us via the email or phone, or come and see us on a Monday night at the community centre, Ambrosden, we're there Monday evenings from 8:00pm - 10pm. Once you get in touch, you will be able to book a try dive, when it's convenient for you or you can buy a voucher to give to a friend as a gift.
